Insurance coverage disputes for businesses

A fire closes the shop, and the insurer says the policy doesn't cover the lost months. A customer sues you, and your insurer won't defend. We represent policyholders, never insurers, in coverage and bad-faith cases. We are lawyers, not public adjusters, and we work beside one when a claim needs it.

Cases we take

  • Denied property and business-interruption claims

  • Insurers that refuse to defend a lawsuit

  • Bad-faith claims handling

  • Commercial liability and umbrella coverage

What a coverage case covers

All of it is inside the monthly fee. Costs paid to others are billed at cost.

  • The whole policy, read

Declarations, endorsements and exclusions, in the order the insurer will read them.

  • The claim file

Every letter, estimate and recorded statement, set out so we can see what the insurer knew and when.

  • Two cases at once

When an insurer won't defend, we handle the coverage fight while making sure the lawsuit against you is answered.

Insurance coverage disputes: common questions

The insurer denied the claim. Is it too late?

Policies set their own deadlines to sue, often shorter than you'd expect. Send us the denial letter and the policy.

Should I keep talking to the adjuster?

Yes, but in writing where you can, and keep copies. Let us read anything before you sign it.

Do you work with public adjusters?

Yes. An adjuster measures the loss; we handle the policy and the law. Their fee is separate from ours.

Did your insurer say no?

A first look gets the papers read by a partner and a written budget for the case.
