Runs discovery and depositions across the firm's cases, and is most clients' first call.
Kai is the lawyer most clients talk to week to week. He runs document review and discovery, takes and defends depositions, and drafts the monthly status report each client receives. Before joining the firm he clerked for a state trial judge, which is where he learned how much a short, well-organized motion helps.

What Kai's week looks like
Most of it is documents: reading what the other side produced, deciding what to ask for next and preparing witnesses for their depositions.
On the last Friday of each month he writes every client's status report: what happened, what's next and which costs are coming.
